American Handscape at The Arm

01 Jan. '08

Amhand

The Arm brings you a show of silkscreen posters and art prints from Kathleen Judge and Gina Kelly, two busy artists in the music poster scene. Judge and Kelly explore the design of landscape through various hand-process techniques. Images of tweaked urban-scapes, industrial decay, imaginary evolution of cities and forest animals accompany the viewer on a charged tour through interpretations of the American landscape. The work will be on display at The Arm from January 19th to February 6, 2008.

SwingBoomHissFlush - New Work by David Petersen

28 Nov. '07

Swingboom2

The Arm is somewhat pleased, as well as noticeably confused, in presenting new artwork by Minneapolis (sp?) artist David Petersen. SwingBoomHissFlush is the uncalculated confluence of his irrational addiction to an unconditional love of American sports and the racially based hypocrisies he can only eat as crow from the giant porcelain platter that is his white guilt. These new works of paper and print begin a blind, destination-less backflip into a pool of play and player-hating, where the thrill of victory meets the agony of defeat in a cage match of allegory and Barry Bonds apologizing (sic). Opening: Saturday December 01, 7pm.

Later in the evening we will also be hosting a short musical play about a haunted house by Dawn Riddle and Peter Woods titled Nobody’s Home… Alone. There is no charge and there will be free popcorn!
