Opens: Saturday January 19, 2008 7pm-10pm
Brooklyn, NY, January 19, 2008—Silkscreen posters and art prints from Kathleen Judge and Gina Kelly, two busy artists in the music poster scene, will be shown at The Arm Letterpress in Williamsburg. Judge and Kelly explore the design of landscape through various hand-process techniques. Images of tweaked urban-scapes, industrial decay, imaginary evolution of cities and forest animals accompany the viewer on a charged tour through interpretations of the American landscape. The work will be on display at The Arm Letterpress, NYC January 19th through February 6, 2008.
Kathleen Judge has been working in the medium of silk-screen printing for the past seven years. Previously she’s worked in animation and storyboarding for companies such as Calabash Productions and MTV. When Judge is not on tour with Neko Case, she travels to and fro in the country from print studio to print studio including Screwball Press, The Bird Machine, The Lower Eastside Print Shop, Anchor Graphics and others.
Gina Kelly moved from Sculpture to Silk-screening in January of 2006. She resides in Los Angeles and has shown recently with Me and You Variety Candy L.A., The Butcher Shop Chicago, and Concrete Walls Gallery L.A. Kelly ’s studio doubles as her kitchen, and her images represent many bands, artists, and institutions including Califone, Wilco, Built to Spill, Bonnie Prince Billy, SMOG, experimental animator Brent Green, and The Getty, The Andy Warhol Museum and others in her two years with the medium.
